14 SUBSPECIALTIES

The Department of Pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine offers fellowship programs in 14 subspecialties. Each program is designed to help pediatricians develop leadership roles in their respective field, including expanded clinical skills, teaching, research and administrative leadership skills. Our faculty is dedicated to providing a stimulating and complete training program with focus on the individual. We pride ourselves on our high faculty to fellow ratio and collegial atmosphere.

TRAINING

Fellows receive training and mentorship from our faculty at ISUM at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children and IU Health affiliated hospitals. Riley Hospital is the only comprehensive care pediatric hospital in Indiana. With a statewide referral base and high clinical volume, it is ranked as one of America's Best Hospitals. Riley Hospital also home to one of the nation's largest and most comprehensive outpatient care facilities and receives over 1,700 air and ground transports annually. Fellowship seminars provide cross-specialty education and peer group association.

RESEARCH

The Department of Pediatrics at IUSM is a national leader in research and home of the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research. The IUSM Pediatric Department is currently ranked #7 nationally in NIH research funding.

SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES

Scholarship Oversight Committees at IUSM help Fellows capitalize on the broad range of mentors available on our diverse academic campus. Special cross campus opportunities include programs such as our Clinical Investigator Training Enhancement (CITE) program, an MS degree in Translational Research, a Masters of Public Health degree, the Teaching Academy of Scholars, and our Global Health program.
