About IU Benefits
Salaries and benefits are determined by Indiana University Housestaff Policy. Additionally, each fellow is able to receive up to $1000 annually for educational purposes. These funds may be used to purchase books, slides, and other educational materials. The fellow will also be allowed to travel to two conferences or educational courses annually, with reimbursement through the university.
Other benefits include medical, dental, disability and malpractice insurance coverage for the duration of the fellowship training period. On campus parking is provided for all hospitals. Meal cards are provided for each fellow, to cover meals while on call.
Each fellow is given 28 days of vacation each year, provided that the call schedule and all responsibilities are covered prior to vacation. Fellows are also allowed to take up to six weeks, including vacation, of paid time off for maternity or paternity leave.
