Visiting Students

Visiting Students

We are pleased to welcome visiting students to Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM).  An excellent way to learn more about Pediatrics at IUSM is to spend time with us as a visiting student during a fourth-year elective. We offer electives in most pediatric specialties, general pediatrics, ED, critical care, and ambulatory rotations. Additional experiences in research, rural medicine and other special electives can be arranged.

If you are applying to a combined residency, contact us about potential options for combined internal medicine-pediatrics, EM-Pediatrics, or Child Psychiatry-Pediatrics experiences. Please contact us early to allow for the best selection of electives and to allow time for processing and approval with your school.

If you are interested in obtaining an elective, please apply through VSAS.  All inquiries should go through John Keller in the Office of Medical Student Academic Affairs at 317-274-2264.  If you have additional questions or need specific help, please contact the Pediatric Education Office at 317-944-4148

We are also happy to assist you with your housing search, orientation, and any other aspect to make your time in Indiana a great experience. We look forward to seeing you.
