
Morris Green Scholars Program
The Morris Green Scholars Program was created to identify and support pediatric residents and fellows who want to develop careers as pediatric researchers, physician-scientists, and future academic leaders. We recognize that successful physician scientists in training require resources and mentorship beyond the comprehensive clinical training provided in our residency and fellowship programs. As a result, the Morris Green Scholars Program provides additional support for research training for Scholars through seminars, mentorship and funding.
Program Features
- Research opportunities range from basic and translational sciences to clinical, public health and health services research
- Training provided in research methods, ethics, presentation skills, and grant preparation
- Discipline-specific and interdisciplinary role models for mentorship in academic pediatric careers
- Funding for scientific travel and books
- Two visiting lectureships each year invited and hosted specifically by the Morris Green Scholars
- Opportunity for an additional year as a pediatric research fellow after residency
- Monthly meetings with pediatric physician scientist faculty members
- Annual retreat focusing on career development
Candidates for the program
- Have advanced research training or experience in research
- Includes MD/PhD, MD/MPH, MD/MS, or MD graduates
- Clear focus on academic pediatrics and on developing a research component of his/her career
