Areas of Interest

Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine

David W. Boyle, M.D. is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Section of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. His previous research efforts were in the area of regulation of fetal growth for which Dr. Boyle was awarded an R01 by the NIH.  He has a national reputation for his basic research in fetal metabolism and has served as an ad hoc reviewer for a variety of NIH study sections. Dr. Boyle served on the Neonatal Resuscitation Program Steering Committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics from 1998-2004, co-chairing the committee from 2001-2004. He is currently a member of the Neonatal Task Force for the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation. This task force develops the consensus on science and treatment recommendations for the provision of neonatal resuscitation. In addition, he is the director of the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship-training program at Indiana University and is deeply committed to advancing the careers of academic neonatologists through both basic and clinical research.
