Dr. Sharon Andreoli was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual gala of the National Kidney Foundation.  The presentation of the award, which recognizes her decades of research and service to patients suffering chronic kidney disease, included a video tribute highlighting her contributions to this field.  Over 20 of her former patients attended to personally thank Dr. Andreoli for her contributions and the positive impact she has had on their lives.

Dr. Andreoli also received two additional honors during the gala.  The mayor of Indianapolis declared October 15, 2016 "Dr. Sharon Andreoli Day' in honor of her contributions and achievements in healthcare and the governor of Indiana presented her with the Sagamore of the Wabash Award, the highest level of recognition for exemplary citizenship in service to the people of Indiana.

 

Dr. Andreoli is the Bryon P. and Frances D. Hollett Professor of Pediatrics in the Department o Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine.  She is the Director of the Section of Nephrology and sees patients at Riley Hospital for Children. Dr. Andreoli has been named as one of the Best Doctors in America for 15 consecutive years.
