Indiana University School of Medicine

Graduates

Much of the success of the Indiana Pediatrics programs is due to the excellent residents who are actively involved in every aspect of the program. We attract a large diverse group of residents who serve as important colleagues, teachers, and friends. We have a diverse program with a balance of residents from all over the country and world (see ‘Residents’ section).

Upon graduation, our residents successfully compete for top fellowship, faculty, and practice positions across the country. Graduates chose a variety of pediatrics careers in the following fields: cardiology, endo, GI, NICU, palliative care, health services research, PICU, heme/onc, rheum, international medicine....and several others. Overall numbers of career selection for recent IU graduates in pediatrics is:

Fellowship/Subspecialty/Research Training - 50%

General Pediatrics - 35%

Hospitalists/Academic General Pediatrics - 15%

Although several residents stay in the Midwest to practice, or enter fellowship training, we also successfully place our graduates in top positions across the country. See our listing of 2011 pediatric graduates and their career placements:
