Professionals with the Child Development team evaluate and treat children with conditions that interfere with daily living. Conditions treated include autism spectrum disorders, language disorders, attention problems, disruptive behavior, attachment disorders, genetic syndromes and intellectual or cognitive disabilities.
Our interdisciplinary Child Development team works with each family to better understand their child’s particular needs. Depending on the child’s needs, the team may include developmental pediatricians, psychologists, nurses, speech and language pathologists, social workers, occupational or physical therapists, audiologists, nutritionists and pediatric dentists.
The three main types of appointments include:
- Full-day or half-day interdisciplinary evaluations: Our team works with families to understand and address their child’s particular needs. In these comprehensive team appointments, a full range of evaluation services are available to address developmental and behavioral concerns.
- Consultations: Consultations include one or two of our Child Development team members. In these more targeted appointments, consultative, diagnostic, and intervention services are available.
- First Steps: First Steps is Indiana’s Early Intervention program, providing services to Indiana children from birth through age three. Several of our team members are First Steps providers and can see first steps cases here in our clinic.
