Enhancing our Effectiveness with Children and Families: Exploring the Life Course Perspective
Presented by: Stephan Viehweg, ACSW, LCSW – Riley Child Development Center
Reneé Allen, PhD – Riley Child Development Center
Mary Ann Galloway, MPH – Indiana State Department of Health
Program administrators and providers have the common goal of delivering the best services possible to children and families. We all strive to maximize resources and sustain our best efforts to reach our vision and goals. The Life Course perspective offers a broad view of looking at health and wellness. There is a complex interplay between biology, behavior, emotions, socialization, and environmental factors in an individual. It is this interplay that determines health outcomes. This is especially true for children and adolescents with special health care needs. The value of the Life Course perspective is that it allows professionals, practitioners, and physicians to see the full picture of an individual and how their life experiences and environment can affect their health outcomes.
Join us to explore how to implement the Life Course perspective into our programs and services to support children and families with special health care needs in Indiana.
Registration Fee: $100 (lunch on your own)
