Rebecca M. Dixon, MD, FAAP Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine
Dr. Rebecca Dixon is an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics with the IU School of Medicine. She serves as the director of the section of pediatric hospital medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Dixon has been a long-standing member of IU Health. She joined the newly –formed pediatric hospitalist team in 2003 where she practiced inpatient medicine at Methodist Hospital. Her career then led her to assist with the development of the pediatric hospitalist department at IU North in 2006 and soon thereafter, she founded the pediatric hospitalist program at IUH West in 2007. Dr. Dixon went on to become the Medical Director of Pediatrics at IUH West in 2008 and the Chief of Pediatrics in 2011 – both positions she continues to hold. Dr. Dixon thoroughly enjoys pediatric inpatient medicine, and she is particularly enthusiastic about the opportunity to positively impact many patients’ lives through her leadership position.
